Astrologié Beauty’s New Glitterbombs are Out of This World

DSCF1762.JPG

This week I have another set of swatches from the latest launch by Astrologié Beauty! We’ve seen plenty of their polishes featuring holo glitter whether it be scattered formulas like Meteorite, or linear formulas like Hibiscus. But their new Constellation Collection is their very first full set of holographic glitterbombs. Join me as I swatch 3 colors from this stellar new formula.

And don’t forget to check out the custom mix I created from two of these polishes!

Celestial Waters

Let’s get started with the polish that made me fall in love with the collection: Celestial Waters.

If you know me, you know I love a good metallic blue polish. And Celestial Waters gives me the perfect ratio of blue to silver, and holographic to metallic sheen. From afar, it gives off a baby blue hue, and up close you can really see all of those beautiful flecks of true blue, making for a nice complex composition that is present in all of the polishes in this collection!

Star-Crossed

This next polish is for all the lovers out there. We have Star-Crossed, featuring pink holographic glitter.

In case you were wondering about the opacity of these polishes, I used 2.5 coats for full opacity. Two full coats, and then one touch-up coat. As I mentioned before, these polishes are glitterbombs, so they’re intended for full coverage! I did try all of the polishes over both a clear basecoat, and a VNL Blur polish, and honestly found no difference between the amount of polish I needed to use. Even over my bare nail color, it was easy to accomplish opacity. If you are one of those people who can’t handle the tips of their nails being translucent when backlit, a VNL Blur can help. But other than that, it’s not necessary.

Supernova

One of the key additions to a polish-addict’s arsenal is a good silver holo glitterbomb. And you’d be hard-pressed to find one that sparkles more than Supernova. As I mentioned before, I wore a VNL Blur polish beneath my swatches, but one could hardly tell. And this is silver holo in a clear base. That’s how opaque this collection is. They did not skimp out on the holo. These definitely make me feel like a “Supernova Girl” - Any Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century fans out there? Anyone?

My Custom Mix

DSCF0143.JPG

After I saw Holo Taco’s recent Remix Collection featuring combinations of past polishes, I got mighty curious as to what would happen when I combine two of the polishes from the Constellation Collection. I decided to mix together equal parts Celestial Waters and Star-Crossed to see what kind of effect I would get!

Of course since these polishes aren’t pigment based and consist of different color holo glitters, it didn’t create a purple base. Instead the blending of the pink and blue holos creates a purple effect from afar, that turns into a combo of scattered pink and blue glitters when you look at it up close. So gorgeous! And depending on whether you want the shade of purple to be cool or warm toned, you can play with the ratio of the two polishes. Using more of Celestial Waters will give you a more lavender appearance, and using more of Star-Crossed will give you a more lilac appearance.

Any ideas of what I should call this gorgeous custom mix? I’m thinking “Nebula.”

What do you think about this sparkly new 3-piece collection? As someone who has struggled with applying glitterbomb polishes in the past, I cannot tell you how self-leveling and easy to apply these were. Not to mention the holo is blinding in the sun. Can’t wait to see what Astrologié Beauty launches next. Until we meet again!
