Alessi "Uselen" Paper-Knife

One of my favorite and most trusted tools at my desk is my Alessi paper knife. This piece is entitled “Uselen,” and is by Italian industrial designer Giulio Iacchett.

It has been a great investment to my pencil holder, as I use it to open mail every day. It’s durable and sharp enough to get a precise slice, but not sharp enough to do any harm to your hand. Its sleek S-shaped minimalistic design and stainless steel sheen give your tabletop an elevated look, plus it’s weighted at the bottom, making it easy to stand up in a pencil container without knocking the whole thing over.
